What We'll Bring:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive GCP DevOps and Support Engineer to manage and support applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating operational tasks, and ensuring optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have strong systems engineering experience, excellent scripting skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required.What You'll Bring:
Infrastructure & Operations
- Deploy and manage cloud resources (VMs, Databases (MySQL and Postgres), networking) aligned with business requirements.
- Monitor cloud systems for performance, availability, and security using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Managing and maintaining services with zero downtime and automate monitoring via GKE Clusters, Dataproc clusters, Cloud SQL Studio
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, or Kubernetes YAML.
Technical Support & Incident Management
- Respond to and resolve technical issues including connectivity, performance, and security incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead remediation efforts.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
Security & Compliance
- Implement access controls, and identity management.
- Ensure compliance with legal, infosec, and privacy standards.
- Conduct audits and maintain controls to meet regulatory requirements.
- Vulnerability management, remediation in collaboration with respective teams/vendors.
Automation & DevOps
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins & Ansible.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Design and maintain monitoring dashboards for real-time visibility.
- Set up alerting mechanisms for critical metrics.
- Analyze logs and metrics to identify trends and bottlenecks.
- Generate regular reports on system health and performance.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on configurations and procedures.
- Build and update a knowledge base of common issues and solutions.
- Conduct workshops or webinars to share best practices.
Impact You'll Make:
Must-Have:
- 4+ years of experience in cloud environments (GCP DevOps mandatory).
- Good Linux system administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible.
- Proficiency in monitoring/debugging tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Kubectl).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Experience with DevOps tools Jenkins, CICD pipelines, Git - Repository Kubernetes, Helm.
- Exposure to Big Data technologies, Hadoop Eco-system Hive, Spark, Jupyter Notebook.
- Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and patch management.
- Confluence and Jira Ticketing with alerting mechanisms.
Nice-to-Have:
- Database query proficiency for troubleshooting.
- Configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
