In this role, you will oversee daily natural gas operations, using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to monitor and control pipeline facilities while maintaining safe pressures and reliable gas flow. You will coordinate responses to changing operating conditions, direct field activities during planned and emergency events, and help ensure the pipeline system operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage daily natural gas operations to meet the physical requirements of the pipeline system safely, efficiently, and reliably.

  • Monitor and control valves, regulators, compressors, pressures, and gas flows through SCADA while ensuring compliance with Maximum Allowable Operating Pressures.

  • Respond to SCADA alarms and changing pipeline conditions by adjusting system pressures and flows, notifying field personnel, and coordinating appropriate action.

  • Direct field personnel during repairs, outages, pipeline pigging, and normal, abnormal, or emergency operations involving transmission, production, storage, and distribution facilities.

  • Analyze gas-control data, implement operating volumes and pressures, coordinate nominations with suppliers and storage partners, and execute the daily operating plan.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, comply with Control Room and Alarm Management requirements, and build productive relationships with field teams, pipeline contacts, suppliers, management, and partner departments.

Who You Are:
  • Hold a related technical diploma/associate degree in engineering technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • A minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in natural gas, utility, analytical, process operations, control-room, or related experience. For candidates who do not possess a technical diploma/associates degree, an additional 2-years of related experience is required (total of 3+ years)

  • Good understanding of natural gas operations, pipeline networks, compressor stations, storage and production systems, emergency procedures, Control Room Management requirements, and applicable Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) or other regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to interpret operational data, detect errors and anomalies, recommend corrective action, and apply strong reasoning and problem-solving skills to changing pipeline conditions.

  • You remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure while managing multiple priorities, responding to emergencies, and working independently or collaboratively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, can maintain accurate shift-turnover records, build strong working relationships, and share information effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Must live within 60 minutes of the office (1201e 55th Cleveland Ohio 44103).

Working Conditions:
  • Travel up to 25%. Ability to travel and work throughout United States.

  • Office work environment 76% to 100%.

  • You will undergo various background screenings that include but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, reaching above the shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirements including the ability to see screens, detect colour coding and read fine print, hearing requirements, and the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.

Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or other information; understand complex problems and collaborate to explore alternative solutions; organize thoughts and ideas using understandable terminology; organize and prioritize a short-term work schedule; make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impacts outside this area; understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines; complete routine forms; compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports; and communicate with individuals by telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $32.05 - $42.35/hr. USD (annually: $70,000 - $92,500 USD) for U.S. locations based upon the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.

Skills Required
