The Role
We are looking for an individual who can lead as a game operations specialist. Overall, this role is responsible for ensuring the overall success of tracking and event validation for multiple sports leagues around the world. The specialist will assist the team to process live tracks, validate sports-specific markings and events, handle day-to-day activities, develop and implement future strategies, and to work closely with department leadership to meet expectations and objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a large and diverse international staff of peers.
- Master and have complete command over the entire tracking and event system and processes.
- Maintain and develop documentation.
- Influence operational staffing decisions in synchronization with engineering development and client service-level agreements.
- Be the knowledge bank for game operations to identify and troubleshoot system failures.
- Offer operational support on game days.
- Evaluate data discrepancies.
- Ensuring a strong global collaboration with multiple international offices.
Stretch responsibilities:
- Manage a large staff of contractors.
- Proactively possess the people management skills to oversee the real time performance of a rotating team of international contractors.
Required skills:
- A strong tolerance for repetitive tasks.
- Knowledge and experience with definitional sports terms, particularly in Football and Basketball, will be considered an advantage.
- Prior experience with making time-critical judgment calls regarding live data processing, engineering support.
- Prior experience collaborating live with remote colleagues.
- Understanding of the current landscape and recent past of major professional sports leagues.
- Attention to detail; speed and accuracy are a must.
- Ability to present opinions in a group setting.
- Strong desire and aptitude to learn new skills as well as build on top of current strengths.
- Accountable to self prioritize current and upcoming workloads.
Additional Position Details:
- Must be able and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able and available to work according to the various sporting league schedules, which includes
holidays during the regular season (including day after Christmas Day (Boxing Day) and New Year's Day). - Must possess flexibility, including early morning and late evenings.
