Galley/Commissary

Rate of Pay: $20.30

Position Title: Galley and Bar Builders- available to work morning, afternoon, and nights, including weekends and stat holidays.

Overview: We are now hiring for a Full Time (Permanent) Galley and Bar Builders,to work in our flight kitchen. This position is represented by a labour Union and is covered by collective bargaining agreement. The Galley Builder is responsible for the preparation of non-food items. Each flight is prepared differently according to the airline specifications.

Responsibilities: Building trolleys and units one at a time (stocked items include plastic cups, glassware, napkins, dishware, dry store, beverage, and liquor drawers). Drawers are built according to airline specifications and placed into the Airline trolleys or units.

Skills: Excellent communicator (oral and written), who demonstrates sound judgment, tact, and works well in high-pressure situations. Must have skills and ability to understand and read Airline specifications. Able to handle multi-tasks and adapt to change. Self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of safe lifting techniques, as regular and repetitive heavy lifting (up to 25lbs) is required.

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (25) pounds. This is a physically demanding position - Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
