SUMMARY:
This Graduate Assistant-Teaching position for the Department of Theatre assists the department chairperson, faculty members, or other professional staff members in the college or university by performing teaching or teaching-related duties. Skills and areas of development that will be achieved through the role of this position (customer service, time management, communication, specific field knowledge of Theatre Arts).

Salary $4K a semester
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Meet with supervisors to discuss students' grades and to complete required grade-related paperwork.
- Notify instructors of errors or problems with assignments.
- Order or obtain materials needed for classes.
- Prepare and proctor examinations. Evaluate and grade examinations, assignments, and papers, and record grades.
- Return assignments to students in accordance with established deadlines.
- Schedule and maintain regular office hours to meet with students.
Develop teaching materials including syllabi, visual aids, answer keys, supplementary notes, and course websites.
- Lead discussion sections, tutorials, and laboratory sections.
- Teach or assist in undergraduate-level courses.
- Copy and distribute classroom materials.
- Attend lectures given by the instructor whom they are assisting.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Must be an active student at the graduate level at East Texas A&M.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Punctual, skills in basic technology (Microsoft Office, Google), and effective communication.
- Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Handle confidential matters and employ professional approaches when dealing with students, faculty, and staff.
- Licensing/Professional Certifications: None
- Physical Requirements: Able to be on their feet for long periods at a time.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Be in the process of attaining a master's degree in Theatre. Familiarity with online teaching and coursework.
