Typical duties include but are not limited to preparation, transportation, and personal care of the deceased to be carried out with professionalism, dignity, respect and adherence to health and safety standards.

If you’re successful in your application, we’ll perform some background checks as part of our pre-employment screening process. These will include a DBS (disclosure and barring service) and adverse media checks which includes social media activity on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Skills Required
- Comfortable with direct physical contact with the deceased (including personal care and preparation)
- Ability to carry out physical tasks such as moving coffins and manual handling (training and equipment provided)
- Good communication skills, verbal and written, for interacting with clients and colleagues
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills, and ability to perform simple calculations and invoicing
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy; adherence to regulatory policies and processes
- Good IT skills and ability to use computers, tablets, smartphone applications, printers and client management applications
- High levels of empathy, discretion and care when supporting bereaved families
- Ability to work alone in branch at times and maintain a safe, welcoming environment
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks (DBS) and adverse media/social checks
