The Opportunity

The Funding Specialist is responsible for the administration, reconciliation, and processing of customer claims funding activities. This role ensures the accurate calculation and distribution of claim funding, maintains customer account information, performs account reconciliations, and provides exceptional customer support related to funding inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Prepare weekly customer claims funding requests.
  • Run, review, and reconcile reports from the claims processing platform.
  • Calculate weekly funding amounts based on customer-specific funding arrangements.
  • Draft and distribute claims funding notification emails to customers.
  • Review claims funding transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of customer draw accounts and investigate and resolve unreconciled transactions.
  • Complete monthly administrative updates for customer draw accounts.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding claim funding activities.
  • Track and maintain detailed records of customer claims funding by division.
  • Identify, process, and monitor check voids and reissues.
  • Process returned mail and track outstanding or uncleared checks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer contact information within source systems.
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other claims funding activities as assigned.

Qualifications

What we expect from you


  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products, specifically Excel
  • Two + years of experience in a funding, billing, accounting, or financial operations role.
  • Experience working for a Third-Party Administrator (TPA), health plan, or healthcare-related organization.
  • Experience with account reconciliation and transaction research.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments while managing independent responsibilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process efficiencies.

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is an hourly rate of $22.00-$25.00/hour
