SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Mortgage Funder is responsible for ensuring that all mortgage loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role involves working closely with loan officers, underwriters, and closing teams to facilitate the timely and accurate funding of mortgage loans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and Verify Documentation:
- Examine and verify loan documents for accuracy and completeness, including loan applications, credit reports, income verification, and title reports.
- Ensure all conditions and requirements are met before loan disbursement.
- Coordinate with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, processors, closers and closing agents to address any issues or discrepancies.
- Communicate with borrowers to obtain additional documentation or information as needed.
- Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure all loan transactions comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Funding Process:
- Prepare and process loan funding documents, including approving disbursement of funds to appropriate parties.
- Review and verify the accuracy of funding calculations and ensure timely funding of loans.
- Upload funding documents to appropriate folder, and input data to ensure documented approval of funding
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all funding activities and documentation.
- Ensure that all files are organized and stored in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution:
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the funding process.
- Provide exceptional customer service to resolve borrower concerns and inquiries.
- Escalate all funding delays to Closing Management
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage funding, underwriting, or a related role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in mortgage processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by the job are close vision.
