Job Description

Purpose of the Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated fund administration professional to lead a team while managing a portfolio of complex and high-value fund structures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with people leadership, client relationship management and operational oversight.

In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering exceptional client service, supporting team development and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. You'll work closely with senior leadership, clients and professional advisers to drive efficiency, manage risk and contribute to the ongoing success of the department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex, high-value and higher-risk funds and related structures.
  • Oversee the full administration and accounting requirements for your assigned clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, professional advisers and key stakeholders.
  • Support team members with client-related matters and attend client and adviser meetings when required.
  • Ensure billing, fee collection and aged debt management are effectively monitored and managed.
  • Ensure all client activities are conducted in line with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and assess risk across your client portfolio, ensuring appropriate oversight of higher-risk matters.
  • Identify and escalate issues to senior management and Directors where necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and industry developments.
  • Act as an authorised signatory in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead, motivate and support a team of Fund Administrators to deliver a high-quality client experience.
  • Manage team workloads and resource allocation to ensure work is distributed effectively.
  • Participate in management meetings and contribute to departmental decision-making.
  • Support the onboarding and allocation of new business opportunities.
  • Drive operational improvements and contribute to projects focused on enhancing client service and business efficiency.
  • Ensure continuity of service during team absences through effective planning and communication.
  • Coach, mentor and support team members in achieving their personal and professional development goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career progression discussions.
  • Play an active role in recruitment and talent development activities.
  • Manage absence, performance and employee relations matters, working closely with HR when required.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Governance, Legal, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. STEP, CGI/ICSA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management capacity within financial services.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in fund administration, company administration, or a similar financial services environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fund administration, corporate structures, and associated governance requirements.
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, Jersey Company Law, and the tax implications of various structures.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing teams.
  • Strong IT and systems skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple platforms and applications.
