The Functional Safety SW team is responsible for development of the professional embedded software products. The demand for the Functional Safety SW is growing together with the trend of the autonomous cars.

Functional Safety

Functional Safety in Automotive is described by ISO 26262 standard (see e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_26262). It is nowadays mandatory for each microcontroller / electronic system in Automotive. Our software solutions implement complex Safety Concept designed for a particular microcontroller where we can fully use our advantage of the microcontroller vendor to choose between HW / SW solution to achieve higher efficiency a flexibility.

NXP provides large portfolio of suitable microprocessors and microcontrollers supported with Functional Safety software to be used directly by our customers in their electronic control units. Examples of such software can be Core Self-Test Library (https://www.nxp.com/scst) and Safety Software Framework (https://www.nxp.com/saf).

You will have the occasion to get in contact with different NXP Automotive teams (solution teams, hardware designers, customers engineers, etc.), give feedback and propose solutions.

Your responsibilities:

• Implementation of professional Functional Safety SW
• Design of Functional Safety SW architecture for automotive microcontrollers
• Architect various Functional Safety concepts together with architects and HW team
• Collect and analyze customer specific needs on Functional Safety
• Provide support to our customers
• Follow software development process and quality standards

Your profile:

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Control or Computer Engineering
• Embedded software development experience, Embedded C skills
• Knowledge and experience in Functional Safety
• Experience with Automotive is advantage
• Experience with software development process and quality standards is advantage
• Pragmatic person with own proactivity to solve the incoming issues, high independency level
• Willingness and ability to learn new stuff, trends
• Team player to keep excellent team spirit and information sharing
• Good level of English and communication
