The Functional Safety Manager plans and manages functional safety activities for a product throughout its life cycle, working closely with project management and engineering departments to prepare proper technical and safety concepts.

General Responsibilities

  • Advise, lead, coordinate and own the Functional Safety Plan to ensure work product compliance according to the relevant standards and customer requirements.
  • Advise and lead the development of functional safety tools, trainings, and process.
  • Advise in discussions on functional safety requirements with the customer and cascade them to systems, subsystems, and component levels.
  • Lead and advise in verification and confirmation reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards including safety analyses D-FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, FFI, etc.
  • Gathers compliance documentations and evidence (safety case).
  • Sign off work products.
  • Advise in regular or escalation meetings with customer Functional Safety Managers.
  • Organize necessary training and internal seminars/workshops to ensure team’s knowledge of standardization match with our project requirements.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
