About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Functional Safety Engineer to join our Safety Team. The Safety Team is responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of the functional safety process, supporting development projects, conducting internal audits, and managing relations with certification bodies.
Main Responsibilities
- Support functional safety activities in development projects, ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508).
- Define, implement, and maintain functional safety processes within the organization.
- Plan, execute, and document internal functional safety audits.
- Lead the creation and review of safety documentation including safety concepts, safety validation and safety manuals.
- Act as the primary interface with external certification bodies and coordinate product certification activities.
- Provide training and guidance to engineering teams to strengthen awareness and application of safety standards.
- Support risk assessments, hazard analyses, FMEA/FMEDA, and related safety analysis activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety practices and culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in functional safety engineering within industrial automation, robotics, automotive, or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508).
- Experience working with certification bodies
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer/Professional (TÜV or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Strong English communication skills
