The organisation

With this role you will be part of the Roche wide ASPIRE program. ASPIRE is one of the largest Roche business transformation programs. Its goal is to simplify and harmonize business processes across divisions and geographies, establish end-to-end processes across functions, and create a global template with an underlying system landscape(SAP S/4HANA as core) that reduces operating costs. This program encompasses deployments across approximately 200 legal entities globally, impacting over 100,000 end-users.

The position
As the Functional Lead, you are part of the Deployment organization under the umbrella of the company-wide program. The Functional Lead is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution and management of activities within a designated functional area(Plan) as well as building the bridge between different deployment waves. This role involves leading coordination efforts, establishing necessary governance, managing cross-functional collaborations, and tracking progress to ensure alignment with Deployment and Business Goals

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Execution Activities: The Functional Lead is accountable for orchestrating the detailed execution activities within the functional area. This includes developing comprehensive plans, setting clear milestones, and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards

  • Establishment of Governance: Ensures that robust governance structures are established within the functional area within and across waves. This includes defining roles, responsibilities, and processes to facilitate efficient decision-making and oversight

  • Management of Cross-Functional Topics: Responsible for making sure that cross-functional topics and LLTIs (Long Lead Time Items) are appropriately staffed and addressed by all relevant functional organizations. This involves coordinating across different teams to ensure collaborative efforts are seamless and effective

  • Collaboration with Wave Services: Maintains close and effective collaboration with wave services within Plan. This involves regular communication, alignment on deliverables, and working together to resolve issues that may arise

  • Coordination with Site Main Functional contacts: Forms a cohesive team with the Site Main Functional contacts to ensure alignment and effective communication across all sites. This collaboration is essential for unified and consistent execution of activities across the organizational landscape

  • Liaison with Implementation Partners and Business Owners: Works in partnership with the Implementation Partner on the scope elements relevant to Plan. Additionally, acts as a liaison with Business Capability Owners and other Business Owners to ensure that business requirements and objectives are fully integrated and met

  • Wave Deployment Leadership Team Member: Serves as an integral member of the Wave Deployment Leadership Team, contributing to strategic discussions, providing insight into execution activities, and supporting overall wave deployment strategy

Who you are

  • Bachelor degree and 10+ years of project management and/or deployment work experience

  • Experience in SAP R3 and SAP S4H required

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated proficiency in influencing, negotiating, and effective global collaboration

  • Service orientation mindset to shape a high quality and reliable project delivery service.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate multiple streams of information and activities at a program level.

  • Agile mindset (speed, stability, flexibility) - works according to and brings in the agile mindset concept in daily operations (e.g. SCRUM, LEAN, Kaizen).

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; experience in identifying and leading change initiatives and proven track record of effective decision making.

  • Experience in Planning, Supply Chain, and/or Controlling is highly preferred

  • Advanced Planning Solutions (OMP, IBP or comparable)  and experience in a Business Operations environment (e.g. Production Planning, MaterialPlanning, Global Supply Chain etc.) is a plus

  • Willingness to travel internationally
