Job Summary
The Functional Excellence Manager – Logistics is responsible for driving improvement in the overall effectiveness of logistics and related functions. This role consults on and supports processes, capabilities, systems, data, and governance aligned to end-to-end value stream performance goals. The incumbent partners closely with functional leaders, end-to-end process owners, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable performance improvements, enhance customer outcomes, and enable sustainable growth. The role remains actively connected with relevant industries to bring forward best practices and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of functional maturity goals in collaboration with business leaders, functional leaders, and end-to-end process owners.
- Define, manage, and execute the functional excellence strategy and roadmap to achieve maturity and performance objectives.
- Manage and monitor functional performance metrics that contribute to internal value chains and end-to-end process goals.
- Coordinate enterprise-level governance of functional processes, systems, and data within the broader end-to-end framework.
- Partner with end-to-end process owners and functional excellence peers to prioritize and deliver continuous improvement initiatives with measurable and significant impact.
- Identify and pursue growth and improvement opportunities within the logistics function to enhance customer outcomes.
- Sustain strong operational knowledge of logistics practices, analytics, governance, quality, and compliance, and connect stakeholders with the right expertise.
- Support functional talent activities, including global role profiles, functional competency models, and learning and development needs.
- Contribute to the functional learning strategy, including experiential learning, professional networking, industry associations, and formal training programs.
- Engage regularly with industry experts and peers, conducting research and benchmarking against best practices.
- Participate in enterprise knowledge-sharing activities to build subject-matter expertise across functions

Qualifications
Education
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- Engineering degree with MBA (or equivalent) preferred for internal candidates.
- This position may require licensing or authorization for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

Experience
- Significant and relevant experience required, including managerial experience.
- Strong background leading strategic, transformational, and change initiatives within logistics or supply chain functions.
- Proven ability to connect and influence across multiple work streams, functions, and stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in complex, global, and ambiguous environments.
Skills
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Deep expertise in logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations within large-scale organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transport Management Systems (TMS), digitalization, automation (RPA and non-RPA), and digital twin applications.
- Experience with supply chain analytics, AI/ML applications in logistics, and structured project management methodologies.
- Certification in AI/ML from a recognized institute is an added advantage.
