Functional Architect

Location: Mechanicsburg, PA - local candidates only
Position Type: Remote but will eventually become hybrid
Contract Length: 7 months, extension likely
Position Overview:
The Functional Architect will provide expertise for OnBase and related applications, driving functional designs, improvement recommendations, and coordination between business requirements and technical development. This role will support long-term software strategies and oversee the application lifecycle, including maintenance and testing, to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance standards.
Duties:

• Provide expertise in the business process supported by the application to prepare and review designs
• Recommend improvements, and provide guidance during the testing process. 
• Help the Programmers establish a clear understanding of the business functional requirements
• Create the functional design to meet the requirements or reviews and approves the designs written by the Programmers. 
• Understand all aspects of a specific application(s), and the underlying business process.
• Plan, analyze, and define high-level software strategies and solutions, manage efforts for enhancements, regular maintenance and outages to define technical requirements and long-range plans for meeting customer requirements.
• Work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend and deliver solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Required Skills:

• 4 years of experience with project management
• 4 years of experience with requirements gathering
• 4 years of experience developing Business Requirements documentation
• 4 years of experience conducting full system testing with overall functionality

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with OnBase or Filenet
• Experience in working on a Scrum Team or Agile environment
