The Role
For one of our major clients in the financial services sector, we are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to join a strategic payments transformation program.
The payments industry is undergoing significant change, driven by the demand for faster, more transparent, secure, and always-available payment solutions. Emerging technologies, including Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and modern API-based architectures, are reshaping the future of international payments.
As a Senior Functional Analyst, you will play a key role in translating business needs into functional and technical solutions within an Agile environment. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and product owners to deliver innovative payment solutions and enhancements.
Your Responsibilities
Business & Functional Analysis
- Gather, challenge, and refine business requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Evaluate solution alternatives and contribute to solution design decisions.
- Assess impacts, costs, benefits, and implementation feasibility.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and technology standards.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Design end-to-end functional solutions and document application impacts.
- Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define implementation requirements.
- Support API design and integration initiatives.
- Ensure consistency between business requirements and delivered solutions.
- Participate in solution documentation and knowledge sharing activities.
Agile Collaboration
- Work within cross-functional Agile squads.
- Contribute to backlog refinement, feature definition, and user story elaboration.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Test Engineers.
- Support testing activities, defect analysis, and release preparation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
Production Support
- Support operational teams after deployment.
- Analyze incidents and coordinate resolution activities.
- Maintain solution documentation and ensure knowledge transfer.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Functional Analyst.
- Strong experience working on complex IT transformation projects.
- Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Functional & Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of functional analysis methodologies.
- Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of API design and documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).
- Good understanding of enterprise application landscapes and system integrations.
Domain Knowledge
- Experience within banking, payments, financial services, or transaction processing environments.
- Knowledge of payment processes and payment products is highly desirable.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while remaining a strong team player.
- Pragmatic mindset with a focus on delivering value.
- Comfortable working in multicultural and international environments.
