About Capco
Capco is a global business and technology consultancy specializing in financial services. We work with leading financial institutions to solve complex business challenges, modernize technology and deliver meaningful change. At Capco, you will join a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where you can grow your expertise and make an impact.
About the TeamYou will join Capco's technology consulting team, working with solution architects, engineers, analysts and delivery specialists on complex systems within financial services. Together, you will help clients evolve applications and integrations that need to remain reliable while their technology landscape changes. The team combines detailed technical analysis with an understanding of how banking processes work in practice.
The RoleWe are looking for a Functional & Technical Analyst who can investigate how applications work end to end and turn complex requirements into precise, implementable solution designs. You will sit close to the technology: analyzing APIs, data flows, application components and integrations across modern and legacy systems.
Working with architects and development teams, you will define how systems should interact, challenge technical assumptions and help resolve issues through testing and production. Your functional understanding will help ensure that the solution also meets the underlying business need.
What You Will Do- Map end-to-end application flows and identify how services, databases, interfaces and existing platforms depend on one another.
- Analyze and specify API integrations, including contracts, request and response structures, data mapping, error handling and interactions with back-end systems.
- Translate functional needs into detailed technical specifications, diagrams, user stories and acceptance criteria that developers and testers can work from.
- Work with solution architects and engineers to assess solution options, reuse existing services and identify integration constraints and technical risks.
- Investigate data and system behavior using SQL, API tools, application documentation and other available diagnostic information.
- Support integration and end-to-end testing, prepare test scenarios and data, and help teams resolve defects by tracing issues across system boundaries.
- Analyze production incidents, identify root causes and coordinate practical fixes with development and support teams.
- Maintain clear documentation of application architecture, interface behavior and changes throughout delivery and release.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate that technical designs and delivered solutions meet their needs.
- Experience in technical analysis, solution analysis or software engineering, with the ability to translate functional requirements into technical designs.
- Proven experience with APIs and system integration, including the analysis or design of API contracts and data exchanges between applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to investigate data flows and troubleshoot issues.
- The ability to understand application architecture, trace end-to-end processing across multiple systems and document it clearly using diagrams and technical specifications.
- Experience supporting integration testing, defect analysis and the resolution of production issues.
- Familiarity with Agile software delivery and effective collaboration with architects, developers, testers and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a structured approach to solving technically complex problems.
- Professional proficiency in Dutch or French and English, both spoken and written.
Experience in banking or another regulated sector, and exposure to both modern services and legacy platforms, will be valuable. A background in Java or .NET environments, and familiarity with REST, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, UML, BPMN, Jira or Confluence, can help you get up to speed.
Why Join Capco? At Capco, you can work on challenging transformation initiatives with leading financial institutions while developing your skills alongside experienced business and technology professionals. You will be part of an international, inclusive team that values curiosity, collaboration and the freedom to #BeYourselfAtWork.
Ready to Take the Next Step?If you enjoy getting to the bottom of how systems work and designing integrations that hold up in practice, we would love to hear from you.
