Job Description

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with focus on Backend to join our Marketing Platform team.

The Marketing Platform team is the tech team behind Marketing strategy at Wise. Team vision - Marketing invests its budget to maximise ROI, with absolute confidence to use our data to underpin investment decisions. Risk is minimised, and channel measurement is clear and transparent.

What will you be working on?

The Marketing Platform team is a dynamic and expanding group consisting of four engineers, a team lead, an operations specialist, and two product managers. We own and develop two core domains: Comparison and Marketing Analytics & CRM.

The Comparison service delivers vital insights into competitors’ pricing, empowering marketing and product teams with accurate, real-time rate data.Within Marketing Analytics, we manage tools such as Google Tag Manager and other instrumentation that track and optimize the new-user acquisition funnel. On the CRM side, we build and maintain integrations with Braze, enabling seamless lifecycle marketing campaigns and personalized customer engagement.

Qualifications

  • You have around 5 years of experience working with backend technologies such as Java or Python, and building REST APIs. 

  • You have an understanding of good UX principles and feel comfortable working with CSS to deliver seamless, user-friendly interfaces. 

  • Experience with React (with TypeScript) and SSR frameworks such as Next.js 

  • Familiarity with modern testing tools such as Jest, Storybook, Cypress, or similar

  • You have a strong desire to write clean, testable, and maintainable code, and can communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • You thrive in cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with designers, product managers, analysts, and researchers to deliver impactful solutions. 

  • You bring a genuine passion for technology, products, and user experience, along with a broad understanding of what it means to be a product engineer — someone who drives measurable customer impact through thoughtful design and implementation. 

  • You’re independent and proactive, capable of planning and delivering your own solutions to complex problems. 

  • You naturally think from the customer’s perspective, placing them at the heart of everything you do — guiding them from their first interaction on our landing page to successfully completing a transfer, ensuring they’re informed and supported every step of the way. 

    What the first six months in this role will look like:

  • You’ll have onboarded and found your place through understanding your team, squad and guild vision and how you can contribute

  • Understanding the Wise product, fintech space and our tech culture

  • You’ll have fully developed new features, from planning to release, and keep monitoring their adoption once live 

  • Gone through two quarterly plannings and proposed ideas to take your product further
