Compensation: Up to US$53/hour (depending on hours / seniority)
Our client is a cutting-edge startup focused on building AI-driven solutions. We’re at a point where we want to go beyond individual contributor roles, increasing our architecture & advisory strength. We want someone who's been a Tech Lead or CTO (or similar), ideally with recent experience at a FAANG or prominent AI company (OpenAI / Anthropic etc.).
What You’ll DoAs a senior technical advisor / lead within a full-stack capacity, you will:
Architect, guide, and build core product features using Node.js (Nest or Express) on the backend, and React + Next.js on the frontend.
Act as a mentor/advisor to other engineers, reviewing architecture & code, raising quality and standards.
Assist in shaping the tech roadmap with strategic input, especially from someone who’s worked at scale or in high-growth AI environments.
Take ownership for specific modules or systems (backend and/or frontend) and ensure robust, maintainable, scalable code.
Participate in hiring, architectural design reviews, code reviews, establishing best practices.
Potentially reduce overhead by advising on infrastructure choices, performance optimizations, and system stability.
Must-Haves:
5-7+ years of solid engineering experience, including full-stack work with Node.js (Nest or Express) and React + Next.js.
Previous role as CTO, Technical Lead, or similar leadership/architect capacity, with evidence of advising / decision-making responsibilities.
Fluent English (C2) — able to communicate clearly, review technical designs, mentor strangers, etc.
Experience in AI or high scale software environments, ideally worked in AI companies or at least in teams/products that leverage AI substantially.
Strong software engineering fundamentals: good testing practices, clean architecture, performance, reliability.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with FAANG or other elite AI orgs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) in the past ~2 years.
Exposure to building AI-centric features, LLMs, agent frameworks, or any similar generative systems.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), deployment pipelines, CI/CD, performance monitoring.
Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments; comfortable with ambiguity, pivoting.
An opportunity to shift into a more advisory / leadership role, influencing product & architecture, not just coding.
