Full Stack Technical Lead (MERN)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Technical Lead to spearhead the development and maintenance of our innovative MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) + GraphQL stack applications. As a Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of our projects, mentoring a team of talented engineers, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and performant solutions. You will be a key contributor to our continued growth and success.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and solution architects, to marry functional and technical requirements together when defining the solution
• Design and develop robust and scalable web applications using the MERN stack.
• Drive technical decisions and provide guidance on best practices for software development.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.  
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to coding standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development and the MERN stack.
• Provide technical leadership and detailed technical solutions across front-end and back-end solution components
• Expertise in leading scaled product development on the MERN stack.
• Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the company.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies.
• Expert in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience (8+ years preferred) in full-stack web development, with a strong focus on the MERN stack. Experience leading teams for at least 3+ years.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), React, Redux, Node.js, and UI Component Libraries
• Deep understanding of modern front-end design and development patterns including micro front-ends
• Deep understanding of portable, framework-agnostic UI component development and deployment models, including Web Components, with libraries such as Stencil.js
• Deep understanding of API Development and Micro Services, built on Express.js and Node.js
• Deep understanding of Apollo GraphQL, and using GraphQL for API / data / service federation and orchestration.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Experience with state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.  
• Good understanding of performance engineering, and performance optimization best practices across front-end and back-end solutions.
• Good understanding of security engineering, and how to implement security, authentication, and authorization principles across both front-end and back-end solutions.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Must have.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with other JavaScript frameworks beyond React.js and Redux.js (e.g., Angular, Vue.js).
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., Mongo, Cosmos).
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Educational

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
