Full Stack Engineering Intern (2027 Summer Internship)

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineering Intern to help build the web applications, embedded web experiences, and mini games that bring Gist to life.

You will work across frontend interfaces and backend services, turning product ideas into experiences that are fast, reliable, and easy to use. Your work will span responsive web pages, experiences embedded inside the mobile app through WebViews, and lightweight interactive games. You will own features from implementation through launch with guidance from experienced engineers, and work directly with product and design on what we ship next.

• Build and maintain responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.
• Develop web experiences that run smoothly inside mobile WebViews, accounting for different screen sizes, devices, and platform behavior.
• Build and integrate lightweight mini games and interactive features, including the interfaces and the backend services behind them.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and database integrations that power product features.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and mobile engineers to turn requirements into working features and deliver them through release.
• Improve product performance, stability, and user experience across web and in app surfaces.
• Write maintainable, tested code, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot issues across the frontend and backend.
• Own and ship at least one project of your own by the end of the internship, in the hands of real users.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and available for a full time internship in Singapore during summer 2027.
• Strong foundations in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript, including responsive layouts and how browsers actually behave.
• Hands on experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue, whether from coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or a previous internship.
• Exposure to backend development in at least one programming language, with a working understanding of APIs and relational or non relational databases.
• Strong computer science fundamentals across data structures and algorithms, networking, and databases.
• Evidence that you have shipped something end to end. A side project, a hackathon build, a school project, or a tool your friends actually use. We care more about what you have built than where you built it.
• A thoughtful approach to debugging and testing, and code that the next person can read.
• Strong ownership mindset, clear communication, and the instinct to ask questions early and follow through on delivery.
• Genuine care for the small details that make consumer products feel intuitive and responsive.

• Projects involving cross platform web applications, mini apps, or embedded web experiences.
• Familiarity with mobile WebViews, communication between web content and native apps, or platform SDK integrations.
• Experience building HTML5 games or interactive browser experiences using Canvas, WebGL, or a game framework such as Phaser or PixiJS.
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, and exposure to caching or message queue systems such as Redis or Kafka.
• Hands on experience with Go, Java, or Python on the backend.
• Interest in product analytics, feature experiments, or consumer social products.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with careful review and validation of generated code.
• A GitHub profile, portfolio, or live demo link. We will look at it.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
