As a Backend Engineer, you'll build and scale the real-time systems that power nonstop experiences for millions of customers. The Daily Fantasy Sports team drives DraftKings' original product with year-round sports contests, focusing on innovation, scalability, and operational excellence. From day one, you'll ship production code and help drive the performance of high-traffic platforms used 24/7. You'll work alongside talented engineers, product managers, and designers to bring new features to life, solve tough challenges at scale, and support systems that our customers count on. What you'll do as a Backend Engineer
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable back-end systems and APIs that support high-traffic applications used by customers around the clock.
- Contribute to production code from day one, working on systems that power a 24/7 real-time sports betting experience.
- Triage, debug, and resolve software issues, ensuring performance and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to launch new features quickly and efficiently.
- Adapt to changing priorities with agility, balancing speed of delivery with technical excellence.
- Use modern tools and best practices to solve complex problems at scale.
What you'll bring
- At least 2 years of professional experience in .NET/C#, building robust and maintainable backend systems.
- Working knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
- Exposure to RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, cloud platforms, and CI/CD workflows is considered a plus.
- Proactive and growth-oriented mindset, with a strong desire to learn, take ownership, and tackle technical challenges with initiative.
- A collaborative approach to contributing in code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on debugging with team members
