Zenni is looking for an experienced and proactive Full-Stack Development Engineer to join our Web Engineering team in Shanghai. You will play a critical role in building and refining Zenni’s website, driving technical innovations, and delivering unparalleled user experiences.
Your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle, including clarifying technical requirements, evaluating potential solutions, implementing features, monitoring metrics, and continuously improving app performance.
As an experienced member, you will lead initiatives to introduce new features, tackle complex challenges, and mentor junior developers to achieve shared goals.
You understand how engineering teams work, are comfortable with a fast pace, and manage many concurrent efforts. You are familiar with e-commerce business. You can communicate effectively with cross team stakesholders & managers.
Most of all, you love solving hard technical, product, and customer challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people.
What you will be doing at Zenni- Build Zenni Website with user experience improvements and technical innovations.
- Translate product requirements into technical initiatives, solutions and launch plans.
- Define and track key engineering metrics to measure engineering success and drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with product, design and QA teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products.
- Collaborate with global team members on company technical initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, industry trends, and user behaviors to inform technical strategy and development
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a full-stack development engineer to join our website development team to modernize our ecommerce platform and website. This is a role to work on high-level, complex projects with large-scale and high-impact systems.
A strong predictor for success will be evident in a candidate who:

Responsibilities for a Software Developer will include:
- Designing and writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Delivering new features, fixing defects, and improving the existing codebase
- Mentoring team members and modeling best coding practices
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Research new technology and ideas to enhance website and commerce functions.
- Working closely with other Developers, Product Managers, Designers, Testers and Business Stakeholders to understand and gather requirements
- Extensive knowledge of web accessibility and front-end performance
- Desire to deliver work in a fast-paced agile environment
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of work experience in web development
- Proficient understanding of the following:
- Web markup, mainly HTML5, CSS3, including W3C validation and compliance
- CSS pre-processor LESS and SASS
- Front-end frameworks with strong working knowledge of Bootstrap
- Client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery and React
- Working knowledge with Next.JS or Java will be a huge plus
- Cross-browser compatibility issues and debugging methodology.
- Code versioning tools, such as Git
- Have a sharp eye and attention to detail for both the visual rendering and coding
- Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests
- Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs
- Ability to implement responsive design across all devices and platforms, and debug complex layout/styling issues
- Extensive knowledge of web accessibility and front-end performance
- Desire to deliver work in a fast-paced agile environment
