Our first two products, Lily and Lilac, are revolutionary wearable devices designed to address hair loss and peripheral neuropathy, respectively – two of the most common and difficult side effects of cancer treatment. We have an exciting pipeline focused on building products that help cancer patients to live, not just survive. Our latest product, Lotus, enables at-home administration of low-risk anti-cancer drugs.
We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to play a key role in building and maintaining our cloud-based applications that support our medical device software ecosystem. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimise both frontend and backend components of our platform, ensuring seamless integration with cloud services, web and mobile applications, and medical devices. As part of our software development team, you will focus on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance features while adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices in software quality, testing, and deployment.

What You Will Do:
- Drive patient-focused cancer care products from concept to reality by:
- Develop, test and maintain full-stack applications (frontend & backend) for our medical device cloud platform.
- Collaborate with other developers on the team to design and implement secure, scalable solutions that integrate with mobile app, web platforms, EHR systems and medical devices.
- Design database schema for storing and querying healthcare data.
- Build & maintain API services and ensure smooth data flow across systems.
- Participate in architectural decision-making to ensure the platform’s security, scalability, and HIPAA compliance.
- Write unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to industry best practice.
- Lead development of Luminate software cloud platform by:
- Implement data validation, error management, and security in API development along with ensuring robustness, reliability, security under heavy traffic.
- Apply encryption of sensitive data both at rest and in transit to ensure it meets compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering, regulatory and clinical services team to drive platform capabilities for our medical device ecosystem.

Requirements – The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- 5+ years of software design experience, ideally in a medical device or similarly regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Java/TypeScript, React, and Node.js for full stack development.
- Experience with frontend (React, Vue.js, Angular) and backend (Express.js, NestJS, or similar) frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud services for e.g. storage, databases and serverless functions.
- Excellent understanding of databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Strong experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.
- A qualification in Software Engineering, or similar.
Advantages – It Would be Advantageous to Have:
- Experience with EHR or healthcare data integrations (HL7, FHIR etc).
- Background with IoT or connected medical devices and cloud-to-device communication.
- Understanding of designing AI microservices and managing data pipelines for model training.
- Implementing AI models in a HIPAA-compliant cloud environment.
