- This position will be responsible for the design and development of our SAS 9.4 platform in Enterprise Risk Technology. It will be a hands-on role on SAS 9.4 technology, leveraging your skills on LASR, VA, HPRisk, Hadoop (Cloudera, Apache)

Your key responsibilities
- Help to deliver on the RiskFinder vision via a commitment to code quality and architectural improvement
- Design, develop, enhance and maintain a large SAS9.4 and Cloudera installation.
- Collaborate with users and technical teams in London, Pune and Cary
- Work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities with a constant focus on delivery
- Balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility
Your skills and experience
- This role is for a dedicated technologist with strong core application knowledge and good exposure to broader programming & technology topics, who would like to further their career in a headline risk platform that forms the strategic nucleus of the bank’s risk strategy.
- The technology stack is complex, including SAS, C, C++, Oracle PL/SQL, Lua, Python, REST over XML/HTTPS.
- Degree holder in numerate subject
- Deep experience and certification in SAS Platform Administrator, SAS Grid Manager, Hadoop
- Experience across other languages particularly shell, Perl, Python
- Strong hands-on delivery track record
- Good exposure to computational concepts
- A willingness to learn all layers of the Market Risk stack, including trialing new tech and auto deployment tools, to be able to collaboratively deliver front-to-back solutions, as well as champion best practice deployment techniques.
- Experience with source control (Git), build tools (Maven) and continuous integration (TeamCity / Jenkins)
- Experience working in massive programs in a geographically distributed environment
Other desirable attributes
- Quantitative, analytical, confident, articulate, enthusiastic and able to operate independently
- Very strong written and oral communication skills to wide ranging audiences from offshore developers to traders
- Knowledge relevant Market RiskExposure to risk and financial calculations an advantage
- Proficiency in VA, HPRisk, shell (bash), Python,
- Working knowledge of maintaining UNIX, PaaS, Hadoop infrastructure
