About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations.  The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dependable, and comfortable handling the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
  • Record and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits
  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Manage payroll and related payroll tax filings, as applicable
  • Prepare sales tax and other required financial reports
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
  • Supervise office staff responsible for: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Accounts
    Receivable, Cash Collection, Loss Control, and Purchasing.
  • Review job costs and overheads for corrective action
  • Establish approval of procedures for capital expenditures and general purchase
  • Assist with budgeting, cash-flow tracking, and financial analysis
  • Coordinate with the CPA/tax accountant for year-end closing and tax preparation
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or job costing accounting
  • 3 + years of people management experience within an accounting or finance department
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
  • QuickBooks proficiency is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with payroll, sales tax, and financial reporting preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V lookups, H lookups, VBA, and Macros, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • **Prior Construction Accounting Experience Highly Preferred*
