About your team
The Retirement Capability team is responsible for designing and delivering the complete pension retirement journey for our customers—across both Workplace Investing and Personal Investing—as well as supporting our Financial Advisors. Our goal is to enhance the customer experience by simplifying the withdrawal process and offering flexible engagement options, including digital, phone, and paper channels tailored to individual preferences. A key part of our mission is to make the retirement journey intuitive and accessible, helping members better understand the complexities of pensions. By doing so, we support informed decision-making, encourage product crossover, and actively drive client retention and lifetime engagement.
About your role
The Senior Manager Business Analysis is a strategic leadership role within the Retirement Capability, accountable for shaping and delivering the end-to-end retirement journey across Workplace and Personal Investing channels.
You will lead a team of Business Analysts and act as a senior partner to Product, Technology, Operations, and Business leadership. You will ensure the delivery of scalable, customer-centric, and commercially impactful solutions aligned to enterprise strategy.
This role plays a critical part in defining capability direction, influencing investment and prioritisation decisions, and leading transformation initiatives that improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and long-term value
1. Strategic leadership & capability ownership
- Own and evolve the Business Analysis strategy for the Retirement Capability
- Partner with Product Owner to shape vision, roadmap, and investment priorities
- Translate strategy into capability models, operating frameworks, and delivery plans
- Champion customer-centricity using insights and analytics to drive outcomes
- Define and track KPIs aligned to customer, operational, and financial value
2. People leadership & capability development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Business Analysts
- Establish consistent BA standards, frameworks, and best practices
- Build a strong talent pipeline through mentoring, performance management, and succession planning
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Lead by example through strong, inclusive leadership behaviours
3. Business architecture & transformation
- Define and evolve end-to-end business capabilities and operating models
- Oversee process architecture aligned to customer journeys and platforms
- Lead transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and compliance
- Ensure alignment across business processes, data, and technology
4. Prioritisation, backlog governance & decision support
- Establish and govern prioritisation frameworks aligned to strategic outcomes
- Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlogs are value-driven and outcome-focused
- Ensure regulatory, customer, and automation priorities are embedded
- Provide insight-led input into roadmap decisions, trade-offs, and investment priorities
- Support enterprise decision-making through impact assessments and analysis
5. Stakeholder leadership & cross-functional alignment
- Lead engagement with senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology
- Act as the key interface between business, operations, and engineering
- Drive alignment across teams, platforms, and programmes
- Represent the capability in enterprise governance and decision forums
6. Delivery oversight, agile leadership & governance
- Oversee delivery health across initiatives, managing risks, dependencies, and gaps
- Provide oversight on solution design to ensure alignment with strategy and architecture
- Establish governance for delivery, change, and release (including hypercare)
- Champion Agile, digital, and data-driven ways of working
- Embed consistent tooling, standards, and continuous improvement practices
You will be required to effectively influence and assist key stakeholders, support multiple change initiatives, and help manage the backlog within the Retirements capability. A willingness to take on new challenges, collaborate and share knowledge freely with colleagues globally is also critical to success.
This role will face off to senior stakeholder in the organization, so the successful candidate will therefore be personable, articulate, and have strong facilitation skills to help drive forward great client outcomes and support the Retirements capability.
About you
- 12–15+ years of Business Analysis experience, with significant time operating at senior/leadership level.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex transformation programmes.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to operate at both enterprise and delivery levels.
- Deep expertise in business architecture, capability modelling, and process transformation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior executives.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a data-driven approach.
- Strong understanding of Agile, SAFe, Lean, or hybrid delivery models.
- Experience in financial services, ideally within Retirement, Wealth, or Pensions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership presence.
