1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. is looking for a Fruit Bouquet Designer to work in the Fruit Kitchen of their Long Island City Market Distribution Center (MDC). This is a high volume, fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a creative background and enjoy working as a team to meet work deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, cut, and chocolate dip fruit for arrangements.
- Arrange fruit in various shapes, sizes, and styles.
- Keep kitchen clean and well organized.
- Check fruit regularly for quality and freshness to meet company and FDA standards.
- Assist in other departments as necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Fruit/Food design, a plus.
- Bi-lingual, a plus.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, work is hot and cold temps, and lift 25-40 pounds .
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Willing to work longer hours during holidays and on weekends.
- Must be a team player.
- Good organizational and communication skills necessary.
The expected hourly rate for this position is $17/hour - $20/hour. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
