About the Role
We're looking for a Principal Frontend Engineer to own and evolve the systems that power VulnCheck's user-facing products. This is a hands-on role where you'll drive the direction of the product UI and collaborate closely with your teammates to shape how customers experience VulnCheck's intelligence. Although this is a 100% remote role, candidates must be located in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin, TX.
What You'll Do
- Own the product UI end-to-end: design, architecture, development, and continuous improvement
- Drive frontend direction—establishing patterns, component systems, and design standards
- Write clean, maintainable code across the stack (frontend-first, with backend context as needed)
- Partner closely with Product to translate requirements into polished user experiences
- Improve performance, accessibility, and reliability of customer-facing interfaces
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to frontend architecture decisions
- Debug and resolve production UI issues with durable, thoughtful solutions
- Mentor other engineers on frontend best practices and contribute to engineering culture
- Support Marketing and other teams across the company as relates to web frontend needs
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production web platforms
- Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (Nuxt/Vue preferred)
- Full-stack competence—comfortable working across the codebase, backend experience a plus
- Experience owning a product UI or web property end-to-end
- Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and browser compatibility
- Ability to work closely with Product and translate visual direction into high-quality implementations
- Strong ownership mindset—you notice what's broken and fix it without being asked
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B SaaS or developer-facing products
- Familiarity with design systems or component library ownership
- Background in cybersecurity or technical data products
- Experience in high-growth or startup environments
