Compensation: Starting at £40,000/annually (Competitive)
Position Summary: The Front of House Manager will directly oversee the Front-of-House staff and have working knowledge of the Kitchen and Back-of-House operations within the restaurant. The ideal candidate takes pride in bringing the dining experience to life through genuine connections with the guests and staff alike. They will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day operations of the restaurant under the direction and guidance of the F&B GM, while ensuring the guest’s experience is as enjoyable as possible. In partnership with the F&B General Manager, Chef de Cuisine and HQ partners, they will ensure the restaurant is compliant with all Food Safety Laws & Requirements. This role will continuously communicate any needs of the restaurant to the appropriate business partner. The Front of House Manager reports directly to the F&B General Manager, with the Front-of-House staff reporting as their direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspire an excellent guest experience both directly and in-directly, through the staff.
- Set expectations of service, by personally completing any tasks that are required of the Front-of-House.
- Under the direction of the Food & Beverage General Manager, they will manage the daily operations of the restaurant’s Front-of-House.
- Efficiently delegate tasks and responsibilities to both Front-of-House, and Back-of-House staff in the absences of the F&B GM or Chef de Cuisine.
- Oversee the management of any systems utilized within the F&B operations, including but not limited to reservation booking platforms, delivery services, and customer feedback platforms.
- Audit and manage all storage to ensure compliance with all Food Safety Laws & Requirements, as well as for replenishment purposes.
- Continuously audit overall cleanliness and hygienic standards of the restaurant, food prep, and storage areas as required by all Food Safety Laws & Requirements.
- Accurately forecast business trends to ensure proper staffing and scheduling is in place.
- Recruit and hire staff as needed, in partnership with HR and other appropriate HQ business partners.
- Process payroll as required by the company.
- Continuously communicate with HQ business partners. This includes but is not limited to Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Accounting/Payroll, Store Design and Ownership.
- Monitoring and helping complete additional tasks related to the overall operations of the restaurant and standard Food & Beverage responsibilities.
- Assist the restaurant’s management team with housekeeping responsibilities including but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, collection of trash, and other tasks traditionally associated with standard food & beverage operations.
Special Projects/Tasks:
- Assist with inventory counts as business needs require.
- Remain knowledgeable on any restaurant branded product/merchandise that may be displayed within the restaurant or throughout the retail space.
- Host any restaurant visits, which may include but are not limited to VIP guests or business partners.
- Communicate restaurant updates throughout the store, including the retail team.
- Provide high-level business insight at the request of HQ business partners.
REQUIREMENTS
Availability:
- Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays.
- Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business’ needs require.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of Management experience within the Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry
- 2-3 years in a customer-facing managerial role
- 1+ years using industrial kitchen equipment
- 1+ years supervising a tips/commission eligible staff
Skills/Abilities:
- Comprehensive computer skills and experience with Google Suites
- Ability to perform business math and accounting
- Ability to lift and move 25lbs.
- Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
