This is an active, hands-on position that involves spending a significant amount of time outdoors in all types of weather and environmental conditions. You’ll also support our cashiers by bagging groceries and occasionally help customers take purchases to their vehicles.What You’ll Do
  • Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift, keeping carts organized, clean, and readily available for customers.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and smoky conditions caused by seasonal wildfires.
  • Pick up trash and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming storefront, parking area, cart areas, and store entrance.
  • Help keep the front of the store clean and organized, including customer eating areas and restrooms.
  • Support cashiers by bagging groceries and interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with carrying or taking purchases to their vehicles when requested.
  • Wipe surfaces, sweep, and restock napkin, utensil, and other customer-use stations as needed.
  • Provide additional Front End support as assigned based on store needs.

Education and Experience
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail, grocery, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Demands

This is an active, physical position requiring frequent walking, standing, pushing and retrieving shopping carts, and working both indoors and outdoors throughout the shift. Team members must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform activities including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand and arm movements. Use of step stools or ladders and appropriate PPE may also be required.

Working Environment

Work is performed both inside and outside the store, with a significant portion of the position involving cart retrieval and upkeep of exterior areas. Team members must be able to work outdoors during varying seasonal weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wildfire smoke. The position also involves frequent interaction with customers and team members in a busy grocery store environment.
