Position Summary
BorgWarner is seeking an expert in Power BI to support our global analytics strategy. This role will serve as the Power BI subject matter expert within the company. As such, we are looking for someone who is capable of doing hands on development but also acting as an internal consultant and mentor for citizen developers across BorgWarner. The role requires both technical expertise and proficiency in collaborating with end users and designing business intelligence applications from the ground up.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - What you’ll be able to do
• Possess expertise in all aspects of Power BI including data modeling and DAX
• Understand business requirements and design effective dashboards for users who do not have backgrounds in analytics
• Provide training and mentorship to citizen developers to support our vision of self-service analytics
• Develop administrative and governance policies to optimize our Power BI deployment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - The Minimum Requirements We Seek
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, related fields, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, with at 3+ years specifically working with Power BI.
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business partners
Our preferred qualifications
• Power BI certification or equivalent coursework (e.g. Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate)
• Experience working with Snowflake or a similar data lake / data warehouse
• Experience supporting reporting and modeling for AI/ML projects
