Job Description

1. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level ideation and rapid prototyping of new product concepts, from concept sketches to functional prototypes.
  • Rapidly assess technology value and feasibility; prioritize high-impact technical paths.
  • Distill complex problem spaces into clear, testable technical questions and development plans.
  • Guide and steer development teams to focus on critical technical challenges; act as an independent technical lead.
  • Development experience in sensors, and integration with mechanical subsystems.
  • Collaborate and lead  multidisciplinary engineers (mechanical, optical, software, AI) and suppliers to implement solutions.
  • Define system requirements, interface control documents, and experiment/test plans to validate concepts. Document learnings, risks, and recommend next steps (iterate, scale, or pivot).

2. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of new product development experience, with demonstrated focus on early-stage innovation or concept development.
  • Mechanical design skills and preferred Hands-on prototyping skills (breadboarding, rapid hardware assembly, sensor interfacing).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical interfaces and ability to collaborate on enclosure, tolerances, and manufacturability.
  • Proven ability to rapidly judge technical feasibility and prioritize development efforts.
  • Experience leading small technical teams or acting as an independent technical driver.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. English proficiency; additional languages a plus.
  • Contribution to IP generation or demonstrable technical differentiators.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 4 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
