Front Desk Assistant (Afternoon Coverage)
Location: North Liberty, IA | In person | Full-Time | Onsite
Pay: $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Part-time with potential for additional or full-time hours
A well-established pediatric therapy clinic in North Liberty is seeking a dedicated part-time individual to join its front desk and patient support team. As a friendly and inviting face for children and families, this role is essential to creating a smooth, welcoming, and positive clinic experience. Position Overview
As a member of the support team, you’ll manage front desk responsibilities in the afternoon while helping children and families navigate their visits. You will greet families, manage phone and email communication, schedule appointments, answer questions, and help keep daily clinic activities running smoothly.
This position is ideal for a service-driven and compassionate individual with strong organizational skills and an interest in supporting children and families. You’ll help manage patient flow and communication while making a positive impact on every family’s experience.
You’ll work alongside a knowledgeable and positive team in a supportive environment, with the potential to expand your responsibilities and hours based on your experience and capabilities to assist the Administrative & Billing Coordinator with billing-related and other administrative responsibilities.
Weekly Hours & Schedule
Approximately 25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours
Coverage needed:
- Monday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Tuesday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Wednesday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Thursday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Friday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
Some flexibility may be available around the daily start time, including a potential 2:00 PM start. However, candidates must be able to work consistently until 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome children and families and create a positive front-desk experience
- Answer incoming calls and direct questions to the appropriate team member
- Respond to emails, inquiries, and routine client-service needs
- Schedule and update appointments
- Make outbound calls related to scheduling, inquiries, and client follow-up
- Assist families with forms, paperwork, and general questions
- Help children and families transition between the waiting area and therapy rooms
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records
- Keep the front desk and waiting room clean, organized, and welcoming
- Communicate closely with therapists, administrative staff, and leadership
- Help address scheduling changes and other day-to-day clinic needs
- Provide general administrative support as needed
- Potentially assist the Administrative & Billing Coordinator with billing and administrative tasks, depending on experience and interest

- Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, healthcare administration, or accounts receivable is especially helpful for candidates interested in additional hours
- Experience in a pediatric, healthcare, therapy, or outpatient setting is helpful but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
