The ideal candidate has exceptional editorial judgment, a strong understanding of the principles of journalism, and deep knowledge of national politics. This role requires the ability to thrive under intense deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom while bringing creativity, sound news judgment, and strong organizational skills to every assignment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES
- Pitch original stories, compelling segments, and enterprise ideas
- Book newsmakers, analysts, and panelist
- Produce live shots, taped packages, panel discussions, and guest segments
- Write, edit, and fact-check scripts prior to air
- Screen video, produce graphics, and coordinate with production teams to support editorial content
- Collaborate with anchors, correspondents, editors, and control room personnel throughout the production process
- Manage breaking news coverage and multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Take on additional editorial and production responsibilities based on newsroom needs
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience producing live television and breaking-news coverage
- Exceptional editorial judgment and strong news instincts
- Excellent writing, communication, and copy-editing skills
- Extensive knowledge of national politics, international affairs, and current events
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, multitask effectively, and perform under pressure
- Familiarity with digital editing workflows, tape, and television graphics
- Proficiency with iNews, VIZ, and building television rundowns
- A self-motivated, team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel when needed

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $40.00-50.00 per hour.Skills Required
