Free People is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Analytics team. The right candidate will be a passionate, curious individual with skills that support data-driven decision making.
The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Senior Manager of Customer + Marketing Analytics to analyze rich first-party data and provide fact-based recommendations that support customer acquisition + retention, audience strategies, and marketing channels, developing strategies aimed at driving global growth and supporting topline business goals.
This role sits within the Free People Digital Team, which includes digital marketing, digital optimization and strategy, and customer analytics and insights. We collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional teams and leadership across Free People, FP Movement, and URBN to share action-oriented insights and drive the retail business.
Role Responsibilities- Own end-to-end business analysis (category, product, marketing channel), scoping broad business problems into clear, timely analyses and action-oriented recommendations
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in customer behavior and marketing performance (e.g. Email, Push, SMS, Social, Search), proactively surfacing insights to stakeholders
- Lead as an analytics thought partner to marketing channel owners and cross-functional teams
- Own, maintain, and streamline reporting processes, including clean underlying data structures, error-free SQL, and clear data visualizations
- Bridge the gap between customer and marketing to keep pulse on customer lifecycle health
- Build dashboards and reporting tools that give stakeholders self-serve visibility into key business and marketing metrics
- Translate findings into a clear story with strategic recommendations, presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Assist in broader analytics project management (data structure integrity, model exploration and maintenance, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
- 4+ years in an ecommerce, retail, or marketing agency environment analyzing data and translating insights into stories with actionable recommendations
- Strong aptitude for parsing through large amounts of data from a variety of sources and distilling insights cohesively
- Advanced skills in database query language (SQL/SAS/R or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
- Ability to be dynamic and flexible in a fast-paced work environment
- Clear communication skills with ability to present to non-technical stakeholders
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration skills while also being able to work independently
Preferred Skills
- Data visualization tools (Tableau, Microstrategy, Qlik, etc.)
- Marketing experience working closely with at least one digital channel (PPC, SEO, display, social, affiliates, email, app push, SMS); preference in the brand outbound space
- Digital analytics applications (Google Analytics, Adobe Omniture, etc.) measuring site performance and engagement
- Project management experience
- Marketing channel testing structures and strategy
