Position Summary
The Fraud Operations Analyst 2 is responsible for reviewing fraud alerts, investigating unusual account activity, and engaging directly with Citi Private Bank clients to validate transactions and mitigate fraud risk. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, sound risk judgment, and a commitment to providing best-in-class client service.
Responsibilities
- Monitor fraud detection systems to identify potentially suspicious transactions and activities.
- Investigate fraud alerts across multiple banking and payment channels.
- Conduct outbound calls to Citi Private Bank clients to authenticate transactions and verify account activity.
- Take ownership of the structured management and resolution of fraud-related customer complaints, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
- Analyze account behaviors and transactional patterns to assess fraud risk.
- Make risk-based decisions in accordance with established fraud policies and procedures.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases appropriately.
- Document investigations and case actions accurately and comprehensively.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and recommend control enhancements.
- Collaborate with Fraud Strategy, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and business partners.
- Support business continuity and operational readiness within a 24/7 operating environment.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in fraud operations, banking operations, financial services, investigations, or related disciplines.
- Languages: Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, English is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to confidently engage with high-value clients and manage sensitive conversations professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Amenable to working on an APAC/EMEA shift and open to a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and public holidays.
- Experience in transaction monitoring, fraud investigations, or fraud prevention.
- Knowledge of payment fraud, account takeover fraud, wire fraud, digital banking fraud, or financial crime risks.
- Experience servicing affluent, wealth management, or private banking clients.
