The Role
We’re looking for a Fractional (≈ 2-5 days/month) Accountant who thrives on flexibility and precision. You’ll own our day-to-day and month-end accounting in QuickBooks Online, ensuring our books stay immaculate and our leadership has real-time insights.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain all general-ledger activities in QuickBooks: AP, AR, bank & credit-card reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
Handle VAT returns and liaise with Maltese tax authorities / service providers.
Coordinate annual audit prep and work with external auditors.
Recommend and implement process improvements (workflows, automations, custom QuickBooks reports).
Must-Haves
ACCA, accounting degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
3+ years hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (multi-currency a must).
Familiarity with Maltese GAAP and VAT regulations.
Comfort working independently on a fractional schedule; able to prioritise and hit deadlines without daily supervision.
Excellent written & spoken English (Maltese is welcome but not required).
Nice-to-Haves
Experience supporting SaaS, e-commerce, or other high-growth SMEs.
Knowledge of payroll processing in Malta.
Interest in continuous improvement and finance-tech tools (Zapier, Power Query, etc.).

Skills Required
