The FP&A Analyst will support the Head of FP&A for HUK&I and the Lead Income Strategy Accountant with responsibility for calculating, reporting, and forecasting Group level MI for Income and Cost synergies resulting from M&A activity. This role is integral to providing high quality and timely advice, information, analysis, reporting and interpretation to support effective decision making. Working to support the production of monthly information reports with informative commentary.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
FP&A
To calculate income alignments achieved through completed acquisitions and internal campaigns crafted to deliver enhanced levels of income.

To assess cost alignments achieved through completed acquisitions

Maintenance of a rolling plan through to program completion for each acquired entity.

Maintenance of estate data, GWP, Client Counts, Policy Counts due to a changing perimeter.

Preparation of monthly calculations for other income which is variable based on premiums and products placed with insurers.

Monitoring of balance sheet and cash collection in relation to annual other income arrangements.

To participate and help refine the current budgeting and forecasting models to improve accuracy.

Finance Processes - support key core finance activities including month end, planning, and financial modeling of investment or new acquisitions in relation to alignments.

Provide month end analysis of divisional results and creation of simple, informative management information for senior management.
Management

Helping to support other members of the finance team through assisting with general finance queries.
Management Information and Reporting

Assisting with timely production of Management and Financial accounts.

Provide financial management information and analyse performance and trends. Ensure branches, divisions, and senior management receive timely and relevant information.

Assisting with production of month-end packs within agreed timescales for review by Finance Manager & Group Financial Controller.

Respond to ad hoc finance queries from within the business.
Key Skills and Knowledge Required
Insurance
-
General understanding of FCA regulations and their implications combined with compliance procedures.
General understanding of principles of insurance
Accounting
-
Working toward formal accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)Strong financial modelling skills, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, index match).

Experience working with large data sets that require cleansing, mapping and summarizing.

Ability to analyse complicated financial submissions and summarize into key points.
General

Flexibility to adapt quickly to changes and a proven track record of resilience

Outstanding precision and focus on detail

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
