We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic FP&A Analyst to join our dynamic team at Totara, a leading LMS SaaS business with £20+ million ARR. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in financial planning and analysis or practice, and a deep understanding of the SaaS business model.
Role Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather data and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the implementing the finance team strategy
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, adjusting for changing business conditions.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting aligned to the budget / forecast.
- Generate and distribute financial reports, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, providing recommendations for improvement.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Implement best practices in financial planning and analysis to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field; and relevant certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- 2-3 years of experience in FP&A or public practice, preferably within the SaaS or technology sector.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, BI tools).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of SaaS metrics and KPIs is highly desirable.
- Experience using SQL / Python for data collation and analysis would be desirable.
