About Ohm

Ohm is an enterprise AI platform that helps engineering teams transform how they develop, test, and validate physical products.

Cursor and Claude Code reimagined how software products are developed. Our mission is to address the next frontier: bringing that same shift to how physical products are developed.

Every complex physical product - a battery cell, an electric vehicle, a wearable device - is developed through a process that generates enormous quantities of data, almost none of which is used to its potential. This is precisely the kind of problem modern AI is suited to solve.

We are recruiting exceptional scientists, engineers, and operators to join our mission to reimagine how products are engineered in the next decade.

Ohm is backed by Y Combinator and other world-class investors, as well as serial founders and builders.

About the role

You will be Ohm's first dedicated sales hire, working directly with the founder. You'll inherit an active enterprise pipeline built through a founder-led motion - spanning consumer electronics, defense, energy, and medical devices - with a structured qualification framework and sales methodology already in place. Your job is to run deals through that system brilliantly, close them, and help build the playbook that the next hires will run.

  • Own the deal. Manage the full sales motion - prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing - consistently moving deals through the pipeline and exceeding goals. You build your own pipeline alongside what you inherit

  • Build the relationship. Cultivate industry relationships by meeting decision-makers where they are: the niche conference, the customer's test lab, the follow-up that actually happens. Keep a finger on the pulse of each customer's strategy and how Ohm fits their priorities

  • Craft the account strategy. Build account plans that target innovative, first-mover programs and business units before expanding across the enterprise. Map the organization, understand its priorities, and identify the champions who will evangelize Ohm internally

  • Sell to an outcome. Deeply understand your customers' business and technical challenges, and communicate Ohm's value in their own numbers

  • Run your own technical motion. You'll work directly with the founder and engineering on deep-dive demos and technical validation, but day to day you're technical enough to run discovery and standard demos yourself. At a company our size, that self-sufficiency is the job - and it's why customers will take you seriously.

  • Help build the engine. Contribute to the playbook, the collateral, and the sales culture alongside the founder. Everything you learn in the field feeds back into how we sell. Have an owner's mindset across all of it

What you'll need

  • Enterprise closing experience. A track record of closing six-figure deals into enterprise or strategic accounts, ideally technical products sold to industrial companies - including building your own pipeline, not just working inbound or SDR-sourced leads

  • Engineering domain depth. A STEM degree or hands-on experience inside engineering programs in aerospace, automotive, battery, defense, or similar. You can hold a credible technical conversation with a chief engineer

  • Complex solution selling. You run multi-stakeholder, multi-month sales cycles with discipline and structure. We sell with a rigorous qualification methodology, but what matters is that you're coachable into a system and relentless about qualification once you're in it

  • Early-stage ownership. You operate without a playbook handed to you, a marketing engine, or SDRs beneath you - and you're energized by helping build all three, on a startup budget where the executive dinner is one you make happen, not one you expense to a field marketing team.

What will set you apart

  • You've been in the customer's shoes - you worked as an engineer in test, validation, or product development before moving into sales.

  • You've been a founding or first sales hire before, closing alongside a founder-led motion.

  • You bring an existing network of engineering and program leaders across our target industries.

Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our teammates, and value candidates who can bring their own diverse experiences to our teams, even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. If some of what we've outlined above describes you, we'd love to hear from you

Skills Required

  • Track record of closing six-figure deals into enterprise or strategic accounts, including building your own pipeline
  • STEM degree or hands-on experience inside engineering programs (aerospace, automotive, battery, defense, or similar)
  • Experience running multi-stakeholder, multi-month complex solution sales cycles with disciplined qualification
  • Technical fluency to run discovery and standard demos and engage engineering decision-makers
  • Comfort operating as an early-stage, first sales hire with ownership over process, playbook, and field motions
  • Prior experience working as an engineer in test, validation, or product development
  • Prior experience as a founding or first sales hire at an early-stage company
  • Existing network of engineering and program leaders across target industries (consumer electronics, defense, energy, medical devices)
