A-Players is helping Poolday.ai hire a Forward Deployed Engineer to own the client-facing technical layer of their autonomous video editing platform.
Poolday runs a live system of 22+ AI agents that automate video production at scale for high-volume content teams — gaming studios, media companies, YouTubers, and brands producing hundreds of videos a month. The platform combines FFmpeg, Remotion, and LLM orchestration into a multi-agent pipeline that runs unattended against real client workloads.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and client success. You'll confirm use cases with incoming leads, translate client briefs into production-grade skills and prompts, deploy them into the agent system, and own the onboarding until the client is live and running. When something breaks — and it will — you're the one reading the logs and fixing it.
This is not a support role. You ship code and prompts that run in production. Quality is measured in client retention, not demos.
What you'll own:
Confirm use cases with new leads and validate what's possible on the platform
Write and ship production skills (FFmpeg, Remotion, LLM orchestration)
Debug agent logs, diagnose failures, iterate until reliable
Own client onboarding and activation end-to-end
Raise the quality bar of the shared skill library over time
What we're looking for:
Hands-on experience with prompt engineering or AI workflow development — in production, not just experiments
Comfortable writing code: React / Next.js frontend experience strongly preferred
A critical eye for video output — you notice when a cut, caption, or transition is off
Strong communication skills: articulate, responsive, makes clients feel in good hands
Builder mindset — you have side projects, shipped things, and learn by doing
Startup experience or high-ownership environment
Stack: FFmpeg, Remotion, LLM orchestration (OpenAI / Anthropic APIs), React / Next.js, Claude Code
Location: Remote. We're prioritising Europe-based candidates (GMT ± 2). Partial overlap with US hours is a plus but not required.
Interview Process:
Intro call with our recruiter (30 min) — context, fit, your background
Technical interview — dive into your experience, how you think about problems
2-day hands-on test/trial — a real use case from Poolday's platform. No LeetCode, no whiteboarding. You get a brief, you build, you show your thinking.
Soft skills interviews with co-founders Oli and Alex (x2, 30 min each)
Decision within 1 business day after final stage
