Concourse is building the operating system for State and Local governments. Our platform is a configurable approach to tackling fragmented government data and workflows, turning them into smooth operations for public servants and the constituents they serve. As a Concourse Forward-Deployed PM, you work closely with city and county teams to understand their workflows and assemble each agency's solution on top of our platform.
A bail management system for the state of Hawaii. IT Helpdesk for the Chicago school district. A water utility operations dashboard. An ERP for a mid-sized city. You own these end to end, including the relationship and the P&L. You're paired with a Forward-Deployed Engineer who builds and maintains the reusable scaffolding for each product category, so you can focus on translating a legacy, broken process into a working solution and configuring it to fit your specific agency.
You own the full outcome for your agencies, including the P&L, so your job doesn't end at adoption metrics. You'll use AI coding tools daily, working alongside your FDE to configure and iterate on solutions, at a pace a conventional engineering handoff can't match.
Government workflows are messy and most of your stakeholders won't be technical. These systems run essential public services, so the stakes are real. Getting this right will shape what government software looks like for the next generation.
What You'll DoWork directly with government clients to understand their workflows, data, and constraints, and translate them into a working solution on the Concourse platform
Pair with a Forward-Deployed Engineer who builds and extends the reusable scaffolding for the product category, while you configure it and add the finishing touches each agency needs
Own the roadmap and prioritization for your agencies' solutions end to end, from first workflow to full rollout
Manage a full P&L for your product area rather than just delivery or adoption metrics
Build a lean, fast, AI-native product development process that can scale across many agencies without a large team
Feed what you learn from the field back to your FDE and the platform team so the scaffolding and primitives improve with every deployment
A portfolio: what have you shipped end-to-end, under real client pressure, with real constraints?
High-agency, high-velocity mindset with an exceptional work ethic
Ideally 6+ years of product management experience, including early-stage startup experience
Strong relationship-building skills with non-technical stakeholders; you can work with a county clerk or a school IT director and turn their workflow into a spec
Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Factory, etc.) as a core part of your daily workflow, with a strong sense of what AI can and will be able to do
Comfort owning business outcomes (a P&L) in addition to product outcomes
Comfort partnering closely with an embedded engineer (your FDE) and dividing work by strength rather than doing everything yourself
US citizen (required for government work)
Willing to work in-person in Flatiron, NYC (5 days/week)
Nice to have: experience selling or deploying software to state or local government, public sector domain knowledge (courts, permitting, utilities, school districts), or prior experience as a solutions consultant.
About ConcourseConcourse is the fastest-growing govtech, providing software to more than 100 state and local governments across the U.S.
Government calls what we do "IT modernization." We call it a trillion-dollar opportunity to overhaul how government works. Public services are broken not because of bureaucracy but instead because they run on antiquated, user-unfriendly software from legacy vendors.
Some examples: Concourse is powering the legislative management system for one of America's largest cities, a state's entire online bail payment system, and a case-management platform for mental-health response teams.
We are an AI-native company. Our org structure and staffing model are radically different from those of legacy tech companies: we have a flat team of superstar generalists who both own client relationships and manage fleets of long-horizon AI agents.
Our team works together in our Flatiron office five days a week.
