About the role:

Narmi is poised for continued growth and impact. We are building a team of entrepreneurial and creative software engineers that will work directly with Narmi’s Financial Institution customers to build features and configure our platform for their specific needs. The mission of this team is to make sure Narmi’s products are powering the goals and objectives of Financial Institutions. You’ll do this through building specific features for customers and prototyping new product features, but with an eye toward scaling these from 1 to n through deep collaboration with Narmi’s core product and engineering teams. As an early hire, you’ll have a major influence in the scoping of development work, setting up initial software development best practices for the Forward Deployed Engineers, and feedback to core engineering teams on improvements to the configurability of the platform. Being a self-starter with strong intuition around maximizing impact as well as a creative problem-solver will be critical to this person’s success in the role.

What you'll do:

  • Solve novel technical challenges alongside our customers: You will work with Narmi’s customers to understand their unique use cases and technical challenges, and work with them to design and implement creative solutions within our current platform.
  • Build new platform functionality: you are an extension of Narmi’s platform engineering team and thus will contribute alongside the dedicated pod to broader platform development work
  • Work with customers to identify product gaps and opportunities to build new features and prototypes to extend our existing APIs to better meet client needs
  • You’ll help build the v0 when we need to solve a problem quickly, and then work with the rest of the engineering team to re-architect the initial solution over time to optimize for scale
  • Automation: you will identify opportunities to improve and automate recurrent FI workflows and create scalable systems and tools for addressing customer pain points
  • You’ll take the lead on working with FIs to identify solutions to problems for the Platform team

What you'll bring:

  • 2+ years of relevant, post-college work experience
  • Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Sciences
  • Eagerness to solve problems, build solutions from the ground up, and engage with all areas of the organization
  • Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following: JavaScript (specifically NodeJS), React, Python (especially Django or DRF)
  • Ability to develop and build creative solutions to a wide variety of technical challenges and learn new subject matter quickly
  • Capable of explaining complex technical concepts with clarity and simplicity, whether to an engineer or an executive/other non-technical stakeholder
  • Passion for understanding customer problems and quickly delivering scalable solutions
  • Curiosity about the different functions at a startup, from customer engagement to product development and partner integrations

This role's expected annual base salary is $105,000 - $135,000. Base salary is only part of your total compensation. In addition to base salary, you will receive an equity option grant, and are eligible for performance-based cash and equity bonuses. Compensation included in an offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for candidates located outside of New York City may differ. You will also receive a full benefits package.
