Position Overview

As a Forex Associate Software Engineer, you will join a lean and dynamic team in Singapore, focusing on developing high-performance systems for real-time data processing in trading environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge open-source technologies, optimize latency-sensitive systems, and contribute to the development of innovative trading applications. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing market data and transaction databases, supporting critical research and analysis efforts. Ideal candidates are those with strong technical skills in Java and Spring Boot, a keen understanding of financial markets, and a passion for working in fast-paced, agile environments. This position is perfect for fresh graduates eager to make a significant impact in the financial technology sector.

Responsibilities

• System Development: Collaborate within a lean, focused team to develop high-performance systems for capturing and processing real-time data in dynamic trading environments.
• Latency Optimization: Utilize open-source technologies to optimize latency-sensitive backend systems, ensuring seamless integration with order management and execution management systems.
• Innovation and Enhancement: Identify opportunities for system enhancements, design innovative solutions, and implement new trading applications aimed at reducing latency and improving execution efficiency.
• Database Management: Develop and maintain market data and transaction databases, supporting research and analysis initiatives to drive informed trading decisions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with graduation expected between January 2024 and December 2025. Undergraduates still pursuing their studies must be available to join before the end of 2025.
• Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot is essential. Prior software engineering internship experience in the financial markets would be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of real-time risk, concurrent programming, and scalable, high-availability distributed systems is crucial for success in this role.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and delivery.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders to drive projects forward.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in liaising with China-based stakeholders, are essential to ensure smooth coordination and project success.
