IKEA Industry is on the lookout for an experienced Forest Management Advisor to lead our ambitious land lease project in Portugal. About the role
As our Forest Management Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in executing our goal to lease 10,000 hectares of baldios, work closely with local stakeholders, and implement forestry best practices that align with our commitment to sustainability and climate-positive actions. Your expertise will help to ensure a reliable wood supply for our supply chain while enhancing IKEA's competitiveness and brand image.
Key responsibilities
• Secure and manage Use Assignment Agreements with baldios land management in line with IKEA's sustainability and business goals.
• Oversee sustainable forestry operations, including natural regeneration of Pinus pinaster, ensuring compliance with FSC standards.
• Serve as a liaison between IKEA, local landowners, and management councils to foster strong, collaborative relationships.
• Advocate for and implement eco-friendly initiatives to mitigate wildfire risks, promote soil conservation, and support biodiversity.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliver transparent reporting to key stakeholders.
• Develop a pipeline of properties for forest investments, evaluate the potential properties, build comprehensive business cases for forest investment opportunities, and ensure that the properties deliver expected outcomes in alignment with the established business cases.

• have significant experience in forestry management and understanding of Portuguese forest land legislation.

• are fluent in Portuguese and English, with excellent communication abilities.
