In this position you will be responsible for the design and release of multiple exterior products on the most exciting vehicles Ford Racing produces.  You will manage multiple cross functional relationships both internally and externally to help ensure the successful launch of the next generation, segment defining products. 

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple exterior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program
  • Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones
  • Lead FSS (Full Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject program
  • Manage design and color/material studio interfaces to deliver to customer expectations
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA and all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for high performance vehicles and our enthusiast customers
  • Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Engineering Organization
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
  • 3-5+ Years of experience in Body Castings Design & Release
  • Body structures or closures D&R experience may also be considered
  • 2+ Year of experience using CAD or other visualization tools
  • Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS

Even better, if you have...

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with high-pressure die casting or other casting processes, including design for manufacturability
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve launch and prototype build issues
  • Experience with performance, motorsport, or low-volume specialty vehicle programs
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with a record of leading cross-functional teams

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
