THE ROLE:
Football Operations Specialists are critical to the successful delivery of Genius Sports’ officiating and officiating technology services. Operating in live match environments, you will work closely with qualified match officials and Genius Sports leadership to ensure flawless execution before, during, and after each fixture.
You will be trusted to perform under pressure, apply expert knowledge of football and technology, and uphold the highest operational standards in a competition followed by millions worldwide.
This is a part-time contract position where we anticipate the engagement will be for an initial 2 year. You will be paid on a per-match fee basis, with additional paid training hour
Matchday Operations- Operate football officiating technology systems during live Brasileirão fixtures.
- Work directly alongside match officials, supporting decision-making through accurate, timely, and clear technical execution.
- Identify, retrieve, and present the best possible camera angles and operational outputs in real time.
- Maintain constant situational awareness during live play, where timing and precision are critical.
- Plan and manage all pre-match operational activities, typically beginning up to three hours before kick-off.
- Conduct comprehensive system, hardware, and software checks to ensure full readiness.
- Verify calibration, configuration, and operational integrity in line with Genius Sports SOPs.
- Monitor system performance throughout the match, proactively identifying anomalies or risks.
- Independently troubleshoot technical issues in high-pressure environments.
- Escalate issues clearly and professionally to senior operational leadership when required.
- Complete detailed post-match reports aligned with Genius Sports and CBF requirements.
- Clip and document relevant match situations to support quality assurance, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to operational feedback loops to enhance future performance.
- Apply and uphold Standard Operating Procedures consistently across all assignments.
- Contribute to training sessions and scenario-based simulations as part of ongoing development.
- Support the development of best practices as the partnership with CBF evolves.
What you'll bring:
- Strong Football Knowledge: Excellent understanding of football, match dynamics, and the Laws of the Game. Prior exposure to officiating environments is highly advantageous.
- Composure Under Pressure: Proven ability to perform in live match environments where decisions are time-critical and highly scrutinised.
- Technical Proficiency: Confident working with technology systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to preparation, execution, and reporting.
- Clear Communication: Professional, calm, and precise communication style, particularly under pressure.
- Self-Motivated & Accountable: Comfortable working independently as a contractor while representing Genius Sports and CBF to the highest standard.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours aligned to the Brasileirão match calendar, including travel as required.
- Strong Football Knowledge: Excellent understanding of football, match dynamics, and the Laws of the Game. Prior exposure to officiating environments is highly advantageous.
