Position SUMMARY

The FLEX Programs Assistant supports the FLEX Hub Director in the implementation of the FLEX and FLEX Abroad programs in Georgia. This full-time position reports to FLEX Hub Director in Tbilisi and works in conjunction with Washington-based program manager.


Position Responsibilities

I. FLEX Abroad: Assist in the planning and implementation of all components of the FLEX Abroad program cycle in Georgia including:

  • Host family recruitment, selection, orientation, and financial arrangements (stipends, reimbursements, etc.) 
  • Host school selection and regular contact with schools regarding student performance, social adaptation, and attendance
  • Student arrival and departure travel logistics
  • Regular host family and student meetings
  • Arrival, mid-year, and end-of-program orientations
  • Facilitation of local language instruction
  • Participant engagement in community-based activities
  • Cultural excursions and activities for students and host families
  • Local visa support, if required

 

II. FLEX Program: Assist in the implementation of all components of the FLEX program cycle in Georgia including:

  • FLEX participant recruitment (securing testing locations, conducting student testing, interviews, informational meetings for students and parents at testing locations across Georgia, processing applications, and data tracking)
  • Participant visa interviews
  • Pre-departure orientations logistics
  • Departure and arrival travel for FLEX finalists
  • On-program support for FLEX participants and their parents in coordination with Washington DC staff
  • FLEX program promotion year-round, through communication with schools and relevant organizations, online promotion, and social media presence
  • Alumni programming support

 

III. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Legally permitted to live and work in Georgia.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Georgian; Russian advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in exchange program administration or position with similar duties
  • Outstanding time management, organization, networking and planning skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and multicultural interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with the education system in Georgia
  • Experience traveling under difficult conditions
  • Flexibility to occasional work on weekends and evenings
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software suite and common social media platforms
