Our residency is designed to help college graduates get real-life ministry experience while in seminary. Our unique structure helps our residents gain this experience from various places and in a team-based leadership environment. They will have access to multiple environments over multiple generations. This residency offers a well-rounded experience while preparing the resident to get ahead in ministry.
Job Description- Meet weekly with our Resident team
- Attend all necessary meetings that help in the development of the Resident and Ministries involved
- Meet with an assigned mentor in the church
- Actively share faith with others
- Cast the vision of the church well to others
- Ministerial candidates will attend an approved seminary
- Perform administrative duties such as calendar planning, budgeting, ministry reporting, and financial tracking when necessary
- Communicate to visitors or volunteers when necessary
- Remain teachable and willing to learn
- Work closely with the assigned ministry leader in learning and executing the long-range strategic plan for the ministry
- Be proactive in personally discipling others
- Encourage spiritual focus and commitment by modeling the core values of FBS/UC
- Faithfully attend and participate in the expectation of church membership at FBS/UC
- Actively participate in the worship service as requested, i.e. prayer, announcements, or welcome
- Contribute toward the improvement of the ministry of the church as a whole
- Accept additional responsibilities as needed, with primary response to the direction of the Executive Pastor of Family Ministries
- Provide leadership and support in ministry areas to multi-site campuses (as needed or directed)
Skills Required
- College graduate
- Attend an approved seminary (ministerial candidates)
- Faithfully attend and participate in church membership expectations at FBS/UC
- Willingness to remain teachable and meet regularly with mentors and the resident team
- Ability to perform administrative duties: calendar planning, budgeting, ministry reporting, and financial tracking
- Actively share faith, disciple others, and participate in worship services as requested
- Willingness to provide leadership and support to multi-site campuses as directed
What We Do
Reliant Mission partners with churches and nonprofits to support employed ministry programs, focusing on the development of character, skills, and doctrine. They provide participants with applicant assessment, support raising training, coaching, and employment-related guidance, while managing the salary and benefits for those in their short-term or two-year residency and internship programs.
